Heavy Structural Steel
IS 2062-grade fabrication and field erection for process plants, pipe racks, multi-level platforms, and industrial structures.
Heavy structural steel fabrication and erection — built-up columns and rafters, crane girders, platforms, pipe racks, conveyor galleries and mill buildings — for steel plants, cement, power and process industries. Structural steel fabricators in India with 3,000 MT per month capacity at Butibori MIDC, Nagpur.
Heavy Structural Steel Fabrication
Maxxinfra fabricates and erects heavy structural steelwork for India's most demanding industrial environments — petrochemical plants, thermal power projects, cement plants, and multi-storey process structures. Our Butibori MIDC facility runs CNC plasma cutting and sub-arc welding capable of handling sections up to 500mm deep.
Every project runs on ERP-tracked production scheduling with full material traceability from mill certificate to finished member. All welds are inspected internally and third-party NDT is available on request. Dimensional inspection reports are issued at each fabrication stage.

Tight Dimensional Tolerances
CNC-drilled connections and precision cutting produce members that fit first time, every time. No costly field modification or misalignment delays on site.
All Steel Grades Available
Fe 250 to Fe 550, SAILMA 350/410, IS 2062 and ASTM A36/A572 grades. Sourced from JSW, SAIL and Tata Steel with mill certificates retained on file.
Multi-Stage Quality Assurance
Fit-up check, weld inspection, dimensional check and surface treatment are signed off at each stage. Full inspection dossier handed over with the structure.
Experienced Erection Team
Heavy-section erection at height requires specialised rigging and alignment skills. Maxxinfra crews have installed structures for NTPC, L&T, and Adani at complex process sites.
Structural Steel Delivery Process
Drawing Review
GA drawings and anchor bolt plans reviewed. BOM prepared and material procurement schedule aligned with erection milestones.
Material Procurement
Plates, sections and fasteners sourced with mill certificates. Material test reports retained and traceable to each finished member.
Primary Fabrication
Cutting, drilling, fit-up and welding. CNC plasma for plates; sawing and drilling for sections. Sub-arc welding for heavy joints.
Surface Treatment
SA 2.5 abrasive blast clean. Zinc-rich primer, intermediate coat, and topcoat per client specification or IS 1477.
Dimensional Inspection
Each member dimensionally checked against approved drawings. Inspection report issued. Third-party inspection accommodation available.
Site Erection
Maxxinfra erection crew with mobile cranes. Column plumb checks, beam alignment, high-strength bolt torquing, weld touch-up as required.
Frequently asked questions
What fabrication capacity does MAXXINFRA have?
Two units at Butibori MIDC, Nagpur with 1,40,000 sq ft of covered area and 51+ machines — CNC plasma cutting, H-beam assembly lines with pull-through welding, a dual-arm robotic welding cell, shot blasting to SA 2.5 and paint booths — 3,000 MT per month combined.
Which steel grades and sections do you fabricate?
Built-up H and I sections from 200×200×6 mm up to 800×800×40 mm, box sections, crane girders, platforms, conveyor galleries and pipe racks in IS 2062 E250/E350 or ASTM A572 Gr. 50 plate, plus hot-rolled and cold-formed members as the design requires.
How is fabrication quality controlled?
Eight documented control gates from engineering release to dispatch, in-house Level-II UT, MPI and LPI weld inspection, DFT checks on coatings, and radiography or mechanical testing through NABL-accredited laboratories when a specification requires it.
Do you supply only, or supply and erect?
Both. Fabrication can be billed per tonne against client or MAXXINFRA drawings, or delivered as a full EPC package with our own erection crews, lifting studies and site supervision.
What surface protection is applied?
Copper-slag or shot blasting to SA 2.5 followed by primer and intermediate/top coats selected for the site's corrosion category. Hot-dip galvanising is arranged through certified partners when specified.
Where we deliver
Fabricated at Butibori MIDC, Nagpur — central India, a day's road run to most industrial hubs — and erected by our own crews across the country.
